MANIPULATION BECOMES POWERLESS
MANIPULATION BECOMES POWERLESS
Manipulation becomes powerless when you stop listening only to what people say and start paying attention to what they repeatedly do.
Words can be carefully chosen. Promises can sound convincing. Apologies can feel sincere. But patterns are much harder to fake.
**“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.” — Matthew 7:20 (KJV)**
Watch how someone behaves when they are angry, when they need something, when you set a boundary, and when there is nothing for them to gain. Notice whether their actions consistently match their words.
**“Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.” — Proverbs 20:11 (KJV)**
A person may tell you they respect you while repeatedly crossing your boundaries. They may promise change while repeating the same behavior. Eventually, the pattern tells you what the words were trying to hide.
**“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)**
Wisdom is not assuming everyone has bad intentions. It is simply refusing to ignore consistent evidence.
Scripture calls us to be discerning rather than naïve:
**“The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.” — Proverbs 14:15 (KJV)**
Once you learn to recognize patterns instead of being persuaded by individual moments, manipulation becomes much harder.
Believe consistency.
Actions reveal what words can conceal.
**“My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (KJV)**
Do not be controlled by promises that are never followed by action.
Do not ignore repeated behavior simply because the words sound good.
Do not let a single apology erase a pattern that continues unchanged.
**“Ye shall know them by their fruits.” — Matthew 7:16 (KJV)**
Wisdom listens to words—but it watches the fruit.
Because words can make promises.
Actions reveal character.
And patterns eventually tell the truth.
**“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life.” — Proverbs 11:30 (KJV)**
Pay attention.
Discern.
Listen carefully.
Watch consistently.
And when the words and the actions do not agree, believe the pattern.
