Heart

 My heart is heavy when I think about how easily we can drift into believing things that sound good, feel right, or even give us a sense of comfort, yet have no foundation in the Word of GOD.


The truth is, no matter how sincere we may be in holding onto those beliefs, if they do not come from the Bible, they are lies dressed up as truth. And no matter how deeply we hold to them, sincerity cannot turn a lie into the truth.


What GOD has spoken is eternal, unchanging, and pure, and anything apart from HIS Word leads us into deception. This is why it is so vital that I measure everything I hear, everything I feel, and everything I believe against Scripture.


For it is only in the Word of GOD that I find the lamp to my feet and the light to my path. I would rather be corrected by the truth of GOD now than be comforted by a lie that leads me away from HIM.


My prayer is to never settle for what seems right in my own eyes, but to cling to what GOD has already spoken, because only HIS Word is life, only HIS truth sets me free, and only HIS voice leads me home.
